This year we are hosting a Brazilian Soccer Camp for the older kids (U15 & U19) just before the fall season. This is a very popular program and we think our older players will enjoy and benefit from it. Don't delay -- sign up early for free gifts. Find more information at Challenger Sport's website and sign up at the following link Tetra Brazil Soccer Camp. The camp will be held August 13-17th. For U12 and under we will host the ever-popular UK International soccer camps during the same week.

In stepping down from the Regional Commissioner post at the end of my term I want to sincerely thank all the AYSO coaches and referees, and especially my fellow board members. They have been a wonderful group of folks to work with these past two years and put in countless hours (actually about 9000/hr) of work to make this the best possible youth sports program. Our children have greatly benefited from their efforts and this program. I will remain involved with Bishop AYSO as webmaster, referee, and ardent supporter. Thanks -- Bob Jellison
The Board extends a hearty welcome to Eric Tillemans as the new regional commissioner of Bishop AYSO. In addition to coaching, Eric served as the Coach Administrator this past year and has coached his daughter's team for many years. He has agreed to assume the top post as outgoing Robert Jellison's term expires.

We had 60 referees fill over 500 slots (center and assistants) this fall season. Our top 12 referees (by number of games), Grace Holder, Jesse Jason, Will Jauregue, Louis Molina, Amalia Toy, Joe Griego, Bob Jellison, Bruce Lella, Maritza Garcia, Manny Santana, Bryan Gonzalez, and Mike Deprez, filled over half (267 of the 501) the slots.
Our youth referees covered 1/3 of the openings.
Thanks to all of you for making this a successful season! See you on the pitch next year!

The AYSO adult league just concluded a successful season with Luis Cortez's team (Jose Arellano, Felipe Avalos, Luis Cortez, Manuel Esparza, Greg Foote, Francisco Garibay, Jorge Guerrero, Lucio Gonzalez, Hector Martinez, Juan Naranjo, Luis Paredez, Gardiel Santana, Uriel Santana, Juan Solorio) winning the championship in a close, hard-fought 1-0 win. This year 57 adults played on the four different teams. A special thanks to regional board member, Patrick Twomey, who organized and ran the adult league this year. We also thank the City of Bishop for use of the field, Helen Shultz who helped with uniforms, and the adult referees.
Congratulations to all the Kit Carson all-star teams (players, coaches, and parents). Bishop was well-represented in the area-wide tournament with teams in 11 of the 12 championship games! The Bishop U10 girls (Bryan Winzenread & Eric Tillemans), the U12 girls (Dave Dohnel), and the U15 boys (Greg Alexander) all brought home the gold. A great time was had by all and thanks to all you parent volunteers (coaches, refs, field monitors, board members) for making this a success!

Two exciting championship games of the 2011 Bishop-Mammoth Inter-league were played last night (U15 boys and girls). In the boys division Liz Garcia led her Mammoth team to the title with a score of 3-1 over Greg Alexander's Bishop team. In the girl's division the top two teams were both from Bishop. Dave Dohnel led his team to a 4-0 victory over Cathy McKinley's team. Both matches were hard fought and exciting.
